CMT Mission Statement and General Information

Christian Music Theatre (CMT) is a musical theatre day camp for children of all faiths. It uses the performing arts to cultivate respect for ourselves and others, to communicate human values, to increase concern for the health of our planet and to grow in relationship with God.

Children will be involved in drama, music, choreographed movement and art (set, costume and prop construction). The week culminates with a performance of a full-length original musical! EVERY child is in the performance!

Participants are children entering kindergarten through the ninth grade. We are limited to 100 children per session as participants; 20-30 in each age group.

Group I: Entering Kindergarten or 1st grade
Group II: Entering 2nd or 3rd grade
Group III: Entering 4th, 5th or 6th grade
Group IV: Entering 7th, 8th or 9th grade

*Groups may be reconfigured to accommodate casting requirements*

Time/Place

There will be four different one-week CMT sessions offered in the summer of 2010. CMT sessions are held at Advent Lutheran Church, which is located at 16870 Murphy Avenue in Morgan Hill, CA.

• Session I    "Promised Land" 
  June 14 - through performance on Saturday, June 19 at 7:30 PM
• Session II   "Sinchi Sacha"
  July 5 - through performance on Saturday July 10 at 7:30 PM
• Session III  "Part of One Story"
  July 12 - through performance on Saturday July 17 at 7:30 PM
• Session IV  Show to be announced 
  August 2 - through performance on Saturday August 7 at 7:30 PM

The daily schedule will include acting, music, dance and art classes and lunch. Group I children will have a slower paced afternoon. Children bring a non-perishable lunch.

Hours:
Monday through Saturday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Friday evening rehersal 7:00--8:30 PM
Saturday performance call 7:00 PM

Cost per session

• $250 for first child
• $225 for the second child
• $175 for each additional child

*Children must be from the same household to qualify for family rates*

Checks should be made payable to Advent Lutheran Church with 'CMT' and the child's name or children's names listed at the bottom of the check.

You may register by mail beginning on March 15, 2010

OR you may drop off your registration forms at the church office at 16870 Murphy Avenue in Morgan Hill on Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
