A.L.H.S
Advent Lutheran High School
For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8
The High School students of Advent Lutheran Church work with full-time Youth and Family Minister Casey Carlson at youth@advent-lutheran.org to lead, organize, and participate in a wide range of activities. Love, service, and discipleship make up the core of each youth event.
Current Weekly Schedule:
Monday
Book Talk – Monday nights from 6:00pm – 7:30pm high school students participating in the chosen book will come together and discuss the author’s thesis, theology, and what it means for our lives.
Thursday
Faith Journeys I -- 6:30pm - 7:30 PM
This time is especially for those high school students who have not been baptized and/or confirmed.
We meet at Peet’s Coffee & Tea on Cochrane where we talk about life and God in a relaxed way.
Faith Journeys II -- 7:30pm - 8:30 PM
This hour is especially for those high school students who have not been baptized and/or confirmed, but are a little more serious about digging into the Word. We use the ancient practice of Lectio Divina to meditate, hear scripture, and learn where God is moving us in our lives in a new and powerful way.
Sunday
9:30 AM – 10:30 AM
We meet on Sundays to work on projects for worship life, or discuss ethics, morals, and theology through use of movie or tv clips and conversation.
Monthly Fellowship Events:
High School Hang Out – High School students get together on the last Monday of every month from 6 – 8 for games or a movie, special project, and general hang out time. Everyone’s invited!
