Funerals
When a family member or friend dies, the church stands with the grieving with the announcement of the Gospel the good news of the in-breaking of the reign of God, the saving grace of God in Christ, the hope of resurrection and the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
You may contact the church to request the Pastor to lead a Memorial Service or a Funeral. A Christian Funeral or Memorial Service honors the life of the one who has died, announces the Gospel, and comforts and prays for those who mourn.
Contact the Pastor directly to discuss arrangements for a Memorial Service or Funeral, including day and time. You may choose to have the service at the church or at a local funeral home. The Pastor will prepare and lead the service after meeting with the family of the one who has died and hearing the desires of the one who died and of the family. The Pastor is also available for leading graveside services. You may contact Pastor Anita Warner by email at pastorw@advent-lutheran.org.
If the service is held at Advent Lutheran Church, the church's organist, accompanist, or another musician may provide musical leadership, depending on their availability. A trained sound and light team member from the church will also provide support during the service. The kitchen and Berkland Fellowship Hall is available, if desired, for a reception following a service at the church.
